Prevent debris from damaging your Caretaker 99 cleaning system with this easily replaceable cup strainer. Located directly on top of the upper housing conveniently inside the union ensuring a quick and easy replacement.
Improper installation and neglectful monitoring can cause small debris such as leaves, twigs, and pebbles to enter the gear assembly; eventually leading to a complete valve failure.
To guarantee a flawless cleaning cycle, check that the screen is “dome-side up” and make sure water can pass through the screen at least once a month. (Usually after backwashing and/or cleaning the filter)
The cup strainer has been designed to help protect the water valve from debris should the pool filter fail. The strainer is located inside the 2-inch union on top of the Caretaker water valve and can be accessed in a matter of seconds. Replacing the strainer is quick and simple.
