The spindle gear bushing is a replacement part that was made by Hayward. The same high-quality materials were used to manufacture the original factory part. Making this a genuine OEM product.
This bushing was created to be the application between the spindle gear and the medium turbine drive gear. Meaning it separates the faces of these two plastic pieces while allowing a certain amount of movement. This helps decrease the amount of wear that these two parts would create without it, they would have to be replaced regularly which would become very costly in both time and money.
This part is light blue and small just like the cone spindle gear yet larger than it so that way the gear can easily fit inside of it. Now, this part is not indestructible so it can wear or deteriorate over a length of time and use of the cleaner. We always recommend to check these parts periodically and replace when needed.
