The ring is a replacement part that was made by Hayward. The same high-quality materials were used to manufacture the original factory part. Making this a genuine OEM product.
This ring was built to help aid these above-ground suction cleaners in their abilities to move around the bottom surface of the pool. It does this with the help of the wheel kit which is a set of 6 axles and wheels that rotate the ring so if stuck up against an object it will turn the cleaners in a different direction so that way they can continue with the cleaning process.
The ring is black and wraps itself around the outside of the cleaner’s body where the wheel kit is attached to the outer edges of the base plate assembly, the ring itself then attaches to these wheels so it can rotate. This ring can detach itself from time to time (normally happens after extended time and use of the cleaner) so we always recommend checking these parts before running the cleaner as it can disrupt the cleaning process.
