The replacement screen cartridge is a replacement part made by Pentair. Making this a genuine OEM product.
This replacement screen cartridge was designed to help the filtration process of the water that comes from the filtration system and booster pump of your pool. The reason for that is all the jets that are placed throughout the cleaner can clog up very quickly from finer dirt and debris that is hard to see with the naked eye. There is a debris screen that is placed in front of the feedline wall connector which helps start the filtration process.
The part is metallic with blue outer edges and rests inside the clear inline filter housing so that way you can see whether or not the screen is dirty. This way you can clean it off because if this goes unnoticed it can affect the way the cleaner operates. The screen can also become damaged over the length of time and use meaning it will need to be replaced. However, this is a very easy task to accomplish as the Inline filter kit can be unscrewed so that way you can gain access to it.
